MELS will recommend how emissions, impacts and cost of mitigation measures should be calculated in DSSs, in order to maximise comparability between systems and products. For those countries not currently possessing a farm-scale DSS, MELS will provide a fully functional prototype that performs the core GHG emission and economic calculations. This will prevent the duplication of efforts that would otherwise occur, while retaining the flexibility for countries to add additional functionalities to suit particular purposes of the DSS.
